3Js Parade

Mas Selamat has became the Money God for Singaporeans as the reward for spotting him soared to a record-breaking S$50, 000. So people, stay vigilant when you are outside. It should not be so difficult because according to my sister and Jeremy, he should be dressed in the typical bright red Cai Shen Ye robe limping around in the forest. By the way... ....

(below) Saturday was such an happy occasion because Joel was finally commissioned!!! Watching most of his friends ORD-ed and he was still halfway through this compulsory 1 year 10 months journey - this isn't a great feeling. We were so glad for him that this day has arrived because he worked for it so long and he definitely deserved this. Julie and I went his commissioning parade at Boon Lay SAFTI Camp and took these few precious photos. The uphill journey to the parade square was unexpectedly tiring. The shuttle bus drove us from the SAFTI entrance to.... somewhere still very near to the entrance. Julie and I climbed many flights of stairs and uphill roads to the parade square and by then, my shirt and fringes were already sticking to my sweating body and forehead. When we could finally proceed to the ground to take photo with Joel, we lost ourselves because everyone looks identical in the same dress coat despite his mother giving us directions via phone. By the time Julie spotted him with his caterpillar eye browns, the officers were already dispersing the crowds and chasing us off. That's why these photos were so precious...

(Top) My half-Jap student offered me this Chocolate Green Tea flavor Pocky she brought from Japan on Saturday. It was heavenly but not sold in locally. If you have the chance, remember to try it.
