Perhentian: On My Way

Day negative 1 - 23 May 07

On our bus to Kota Bahru, 11pm, I was starting to sweat and my shirt was starting to stick to my body. The bus aircon broke down and we had about 9 more hours to go to reach our destination.

The front screen of the bus was totally foggy(really... you could only know there was a car ahead by its rear lights shining) and we were extremely worried how the local driver was going to see road and vehicle ahead and drive the bus safely. The cold night breeze and bus's hot internal temperature caused a consensation INSIDE of the bus. The stupid, really stupid bus driver turned on the wiper and it was totally useless. Wincent told him that but he was not doing any constructive action to solve the problem. Wincent then periodically went to help the driver wipe the screen with a cloth (More passengers started to wake up by the heat in the bus). The bus driver still kept the wiper on and still thought that it would clear the condensation. -_-"

After a long conversation with the drivers (there were 1 stand-by driver), we stopped at the middle of the road and the driver told us to take a half an hour break while waiting for a change of bus.

We had a long nice chat with a lady from Paris who was also going to Perhentian for a holiday. She told us alot about France and its government. She is a free-lance fashion designer and has been travelling to many parts of the world such a Turkey, USA, South Africa, HK... She really have alot to share. Really learnt quite abit from her. :)

The bus came more than 2hours later!!!! We had a much more comfortable ride in this bus. :)
